Liverpool Have 83 Percent Opportunities to Pass to Round of 16
Liverpool will travel to Maribor headquarters on the third matchday of the Champions League group stage 2017-2018, Tuesday (17/10/2017) or Wednesday morning at 1:45 pm. The Reds are looking for an inaugural victory in this event after the previous two games always achieve a draw.
On the first matchday, Liverpool were held to a draw with Sevilla 2-2. After that, Juergen Klopp’s squad returned to one point following a 1-1 draw against Spartak Moskva in the second match.
It makes Liverpool only collect two points and second place standings Group E. Club nicknamed the Reds is two points adrift of Sevilla at the top and only superior goal difference over Spartak.
The situation makes the competition in Group E is very tight to fight tickets to the round of 16 large. But a soccer data analysis institute, Gracenote Sports, called Liverpool have a percentage of passes to the second round to 83 percent.
Gracenote Sports made up to a million simulations against the rest of the Liverpool match in this group stage based on the team’s ratings and results to date.
“Liverpool have a chance of up to 83 percent to qualify for the last 16,” said Simon Glaeve, Head of Gracenote Sports Analysis, quoted from the club’s official website.
“These results are still above Spartak Moskva to seize one of the top spots in the group.”
Despite having the possibility of escaping a large enough, Liverpool seem to be satisfied with the runner-up position. The same research institute predicts not Liverpool who topped the group standings E.
“The possibility of winning this group is Sevilla,” Glaeve said.
